This weekend I am hoping to have a "first" under my belt. I am hoping to sell my first picture. While just recently I have put some of my prints in a great store, this weekend I am also donating a print to my churches annual missions fund raiser (the chili cook-off) for their silent auction. If that print ends up selling it will be my first image I've sold. Everyone photographer has to have a first sale, and what better to do with the money than to support the mission of my church.
Here is a link to some of the pictures I have taken in the last few months that are currently for sale. I am planning on donating the Mount Hood image for the cook-off!
It has almost been a month since Lynsey and I got back from Maui. So I figured now would be a good time to post my favorite picture of us that I took over there. If we don't look like we are in Maui in this picture, that is because we woke up at 3:00 AM to drive 10,000 feet up Haleakala to get some pictures of the sun rising at the top of the Volcano. It was in the 30's up there.
Today is an exciting day, not only because it will be 75 degrees today but it is also the first day that the one of my favorite restaurants opens for the season in Portland . . . the Island Cafe. Right next to the cafe is a great shop on the dock called Point of Sail. Lynsey sells her Jewelry out of the shop, and it looks like Point of Sail might be the first store to sell my photography. Over the last couple of years I have begun trying to capture images I think people might like to buy. This is my first attempt at organizing myself and trying to get into a store, so we will see how it goes.
