The Secret of the Kingdom
In Mark 4 Jesus talks about the "Secret of the Kingdom" in relation to the parable he told about the sower. What is the secret? Here it is.
Farmer sows seed . . . seed is the word (message Jesus brings of the kingdom)
Some seed falls on the path . . . As soon as it fall Satan takes it away.
Some seed falls on rocky places . . . Recieved with joy, but with no roots it dies.
Some seed falls on among thorns . . . hear the word, but "the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
Some seed sown in good soil . . . accept the message of the kingdom and produce a great crop, even a hundred times what was sown.
The secret of the kingdom? Lots of things happen to the message of the kingdom. In some it produces great fruit, in others, it grows but becomes unfruitful because of the deceitfulness of wealth and the desire for other things.
I want to produce fruit, help me Lord.

Could that be why the vast majority of the American church hasn't flourished and grown like opressed churches in other countries? Because we ourselves have been deceived by walth and the desire for 'other things'?
Hmmm...
Hmmm . . .
