Beginning
So in Matthew the first we hear of the Kingdom of God is from John the Baptist. He says "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is near." Helping those who have been living away from God prepare themselves for what what God is about to do. Many were baptized by John including Jesus. Of course Jesus was not baptized for repentance but for preparation for his minsitry.
When Jesus heard John was in prision he took John's message for a time. "repent, for the Kingdom of God is near. Once Jesus had called His first disciple's be began "preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people." We are not told here what the good news of the Kingdom is. But it seems like by "good news" it would be a message of hope for those who were oppressed (the jews at this point).
We learn from Jesus example here that the Kingdom of God is something to be lived out in community. Before he went for it, Jesus formed a community to walk with Him. He did not want to do it alone.
Oh, yeah, this section was Matthew 3-4. Have a great day.
