Progression
As I read Acts 27 I notice a progression. Paul is a prisioner, the soldiers guarding him are taking him to Rome, and when they first leave Paul gives advise that isn't listened to. Basically don't sail. Well, as the journey continues, Paul's captures begin to listen to Paul. They begin to take his advice. There is a progression in how they see Paul and their interactions with him.
I guess reading this chapter helps me remember there is a process to life. I have always wanted to see immediate results, or I begin to get discouraged. But in living consistently, continuing in relationships, you can actually begin to make a difference over a period of time. We should not be always looking for the quick results, but to sow, and give time for a harvest to grow.
