Preaching Like Jesus Matt 7
As I read the end of the sermon of the mount 7:26 "But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand." I realized something. The whole sermon basically focused on what to do . . . how we should live in the kingdom. The sermon wasn't on the nature of God, or the nature of sin, or the nature of the fall, etc. It wasn't preaching theology (though there is some theology in there) it is preaching action, what to do, and how to live.
And he comes to a place of saying those who listen and act are wise (and it will lead to life), and those who don't are foolish (and there lives will lead to destruction). I think sometimes we (I) like to substitue action for knowledge. If we can understand something, maybe we don't have to live that way. hmmm.
